Liposuction
Liposuction only by VASER® combines new patented technology with advanced surgical techniques to break up and remove fatty tissue. Unwanted fat can be efficiently removed from abs, arms, back, hips, knees, love handles, neck and chin, saddlebags, thighs - any place you've developed a little "extra cushioning."
People come in all different shapes and sizes. Every body type has areas that are predisposed to fat storage, and even with rigorous diet and exercise, those unwanted bulges often persist. With the new patented VASER® Technology, there is now an efficient and precise method to rid yourself of those stubborn fat deposits to reveal a shapelier you.
The VASER® System uses ultrasound energy to break up and emulsify fat, leaving surrounding tissue - such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue - relatively intact. Only the Lipouction procedure can offer you an experience that is UltraSmooth, UltraSelective, and UltraSound!
UltraSmooth
While traditional liposuction techniques are reported to be effective at suctioning fat, they also may have a negative impact on other nearby tissues that are critical to smooth results. The tissue selectivity of the ultrasound energy used in liposuction only by VASER facilitates even and shapely contouring.
UltraSelective
Liposuction only by VASER® uses ultrasonic energy to emulsify unwanted fat. Ultrasound, as an energy source, is tissue selective - meaning it can be directed to targeted fatty tissue, leaving surrounding tissue largely undisturbed. During the procedure, the doctors at Willow Bend Cosmetic Surgery will make a tiny incision in the treatment area and inserts a thin probe that emits ultrasonic waves. The energy delivered to the area actually breaks down the fat into a liquid that is removed with suction and massage. The patented VASER® Technology is so sensitive and precise that the doctors at Willow Bend Cosmetic Surgery can perform the liposuction procedure even in the most delicate areas, such as inner thighs, arms, chin and neck.
UltraSound
Ultrasound technology has been used for years to get that first glimpse of a baby, remove cataracts and even to clean teeth. Now the precise, controlled power of ultrasound can be used to remove unwanted fat deposits with low to minimal pain.
Liposuction is most successful in people with good skin tone who have fatty deposits. It is not a treatment for obesity. If weight gain occurs following Liposuction, the fat will be deposited in areas that have not been treated. The procedure can be repeated, if necessary. To maintain the safety of the procedure, there is a limit on how much can be done at one time.
A variety of factors can affect the results: Physical condition, genetic makeup, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol intake, and skin elasticity.
Body contours made irregular by fat can be improved by this procedure; it cannot correct contours that are irregular for other reasons, such as muscle weakness or hernia. However, combined with other procedures, Liposuction can correct these other deformities with good results.
Recovery
Recovery from Liposuction is relatively easy. Expect a small amount of swelling and bruising in the following two weeks. You will wear special garments provided to apply pressure, minimize swelling and provide support while healing. These garments also assist in retraction of the skin.
Results will continue to improve as swelling subsides. The day after surgery you should be up and walking around. Increase your activity daily until full activity is resumed at 2-4 weeks. You will be ready to return to office work in 3-5 days and more active employment at 10-14 days. Avoid the sun until all bruising has subsided. A sunscreen should be used routinely; it is easy to get sunburned during recovery because of decreased sensation.
